A better way to study
How to Learn.
10 rules that move your grade.
Good studying is active. You should be recalling, solving, checking, and explaining—not simply looking at the same page longer.
Use these rules in every math and science course.Recall, don’t just reread.
Close the page and say or write the main ideas from memory. Then check what you missed.
Watch out: Avoid passive rereading.Test yourself often.
Use flash cards, practice questions, and quick self-quizzes before you feel fully ready.
Watch out: Familiar is not the same as learned.Solve it without help.
Repeat a worked problem until you can reproduce every step without looking at the solution.
Watch out: Don’t mistake reading a solution for doing it.Space your practice.
Study a little across several days so your brain has repeated chances to strengthen the material.
Watch out: Don’t save the course for one cram session.Mix question types.
Alternate methods, review mistakes, and redo missed questions until you know when each method applies.
Watch out: Don’t repeat only the easiest question style.Take a useful break.
When you are truly stuck, step away briefly and return with a fresh approach instead of forcing it.
Watch out: More frustrated minutes do not always mean more learning.Teach it simply.
Explain the idea out loud or in writing as if you were teaching someone younger than you.
Watch out: Don’t carry confusion forward in silence.Focus for 25 minutes.
Silence notifications, choose one task, and work with full attention before taking a short reward break.
Watch out: Don’t study through constant interruptions.Do the hardest task first.
Start the most difficult topic while your energy and attention are at their best.
Watch out: Don’t let the biggest weakness become tomorrow’s problem.Protect sleep. Keep the goal visible.
Give your brain time to organize what you learned, and keep your school or program goal in sight.
Watch out: Don’t trade tomorrow’s thinking for late-night cramming.- 25 minLearn one concept
